In Korea, there is a phrase: 같이 먹자 — “let’s eat together”. It’s not just an invitation to share a meal. It’s an expression of care.

Korean dining culture is fundamentally communal. Dishes are placed at the centre of the table for everyone to share. Banchan — small side dishes — arrive in abundance, because generosity is expressed through variety. The hotpot bubbles in the middle and everyone reaches into the same pot.

When we bring Hungry Korean products into Canadian homes, we’re bringing a little of that culture with us. The idea that a meal is something to gather around. That cooking for someone — even just boiling a quick bowl of ramen after a long day — is an act of attention.

This November, as Canadians sit down for Thanksgiving, we’re reminded of what food is really for. Not just nourishment, but connection.

Thank you for letting us be part of your kitchen. 🙏
